In 1927, the United States Mint issued a total of more than 6.2 million Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles. The majority of the coins were struck at either the Philadelphia Mint (2.946 million coins) and the San Francisco Mint (3.107 million coins). The Denver Mint contributed a modest 180,000 coins to the overall total.
