American Eagle bullion coins debuted in 1986 at the United States Mint with 1 oz silver, as well as 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold coins. The Platinum Eagle debuted in 1997 and is available, as of 2009, only as a 1 oz coin. The Palladium Eagle debuted in 2017 and comes with only a 1 oz option.
Three of the four coin programs use historic images of Lady Liberty from US coinage. The Silver Eagles bear the image of Walking Liberty, while the Palladium Eagle features Winged Liberty. These American Gold Eagle Coins depict arguably the most popular Liberty design of all time, Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ design from 1907.
The obverse of the 2024 1/4 oz Gold Eagle Coin comes with a depiction of Lady Liberty in front-facing relief. This full-length portrait was used on the $20 Gold Double Eagle from 1907 to 1933 and was created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Liberty’s figure walks toward the viewer with a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other.
On the reverse of 2024 American Gold Eagle Coins, you will find a modernized image of the American bald eagle. Introduced in mid-2021, this vision shows the head of the eagle in left-profile relief.
These 2024 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle Tubes come with a total of 40 coins in the tube. With 1/4 Troy oz of 22-karat gold per coin, you’ll receive a total of 10 Troy oz of gold with your purchase. All coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
